Atkins Baptist Church
History and Vision

In 1943, the United States of America was at war, a war that engulfed the whole world.  Back here in Knox County a faithful group of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ stepped out by faith and allowed the Lord to lead them in beginning the Atkins Baptist Church to help fight another war--a war for the souls and spirits of men and women.  This faithful home front beginning has sparked a church that continues that battle today!  Faithful Christians still proclaim the Risen Lord Jesus Christ and His inerrant word.  The cornerstone of the new building sums up the attitude of these believers:  to God be the Glory, Great Things HE has Done!!  Come see HIS Great Things and learn HIS Great Word with us at Atkins!!

KNOWING CHRIST JESUS THE LORD:

If you have never trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you are missing the real life for which God has created you.  The Good News is:  YOU CAN TRUST HIM TODAY AS LORD AND SAVIOR!!  HE wants you to know:

1.  All Have Sinned--Romans 3:23.  I like everybody else fall short of God's standard perfection.  All we like sheep have gone astray--Isaiah 53:6.  All my works are filthy compared to the Lord--Isaiah 64:6.  I need Someone to bear my sins away!!  Jesus did this work for me in His great love--He loves all of us, all the World, with His Infinite Love!!  Romans 5:8.

2.  Jesus Died for Me and the Whole World.  He is Risen from death.  He is coming back someday!!  I must personally trust HIM as my Savior and Lord.  John 3:16.  1 Peter 3:18.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

3.  I Want to Confess Jesus as My Lord and Savior.  Romans 10:9-13.  I want to know Him and tell my world about HIM!!  Philippians 3:7-14.
