Decades of Tradition
Central High School Band ~ 1927-1999
The Central High School band, the oldest in Knox County, has long been a source of pride for the Fountain City community. The school celebrated its 1906-2006 Centennial and the Bobcat Band Boosters is proud to offer a three-hour documentary video of the history of the band available as a two-disc DVD set. The video includes photos, clippings, memorabilia, and interviews with alumni from the 1930s to the 1990s. Over a year and a half in the making, the video history was created by David Dixon, Gresham Middle School band director and Central assistant director since 1982.
The Bobcat Band Boosters are accepting orders for this 2-DVD set, available for a $25 (or larger) tax-deductible donation to Bobcat Band Boosters. The video is 3 hours and 23 minutes, and was professionally duplicated and packaged by Graceworks Studio.
A preview of the DVD can be seen online from Gresham Middle School's Website - http://www.gresham-ms.knox.k12.tn.us/chsband.html
