3. Tied to our inheritance in Christ (Gal.
3:13-19; Rom. 4:13-16; 8:15-17; 9:8).
4. Relationship of the “gift of the Holy
Spirit,” the Promise, and the inheritance (Acts 2:38-39; Rom. 8:16-17; Gal.
3:14, 18-19; Rom. 4:13-16; Eph. 1:13-14; I Cor. 2:12; Gal. 4:4-7).
God’s promise to Abraham and
the additional aspects relating to David involve two parts of what God
promised. In these two concerns we see both temporal and eternal matters
working together. The nation of Israel would be the temporal facilitation for
God’s eternal spiritual promise. The greatness of the gift of the Promise is
seen in our great inheritance in Jesus. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit,
God revealed the plan and the blessings.
