Today was a big day. The gift certificate giveaway happened at the Tazewell Pike County Convenience Center and the Halls County Convenience centers. 



The heat may be hot, but at SkaFest the music was cool!  Bad puns aside, this community recycling event was a great success!  KKB held a booth to talk to anyone who would listen and to collect some names of volunteers.  We have to thank our friend Chris and his band The Hits for hooking us up with a prime location! We were placed right next to the food vendors and bands in front of the main stage! It was a great place for publicity. We gathered the names of 25 potential volunteers.

We handed out some of the energy drinks given to us by Anheuser-Busch.  Their generous donation served as a nice bribe for hot, thirsty ska music fans who also signed up to be volunteers.

Several AmeriCorps volunteers showed up and helped us collect all the recycling. We collected 14 full bags!

Today we distributed Kroger gift certificates for the "Get Caught Recycling" promotion a the City drop off center on Magnolia Avenue city drop off center only 3 people came to recycle!  Carter had a few more, but this heat must be keeping everyone inside!
