Temporary Exhibit—Exploring the Universe

This exhibit brings together elements from various NASA facilities as it examines the many methods used to observe our universe. Visitors will view some stunning images as well as a genuine moon rock sample.

Fossils are fascinating parts of nature. It’s difficult to imagine that the image on your rock could have once been a living organism. If you think you have a potential fossil, bring it to the museum and our panel of experts might be able to help you.

Thursday, April 6, 2006. Kingston Saltpeter Cave Study Project, Lecture and Book Signing, Larry Blair. In 1980, an important discovery of vertebrate fossils was made in the Kingston Saltpeter Cave in Bartow County. In the years since, 148 vertebrate, 16 invertebrate fossil species have been identified. Larry Blair, one of the founders of the Kingston Saltpeter Cave Committee, will present a lecture on the cave and the ongoing fossil study project. He will also be available to sign copies of his book after the lecture.
