Minutes of April 20, 2006 Meeting
Our Guest Speaker for the meeting, Mr. Michael Murray, Radiological Assistance Program, Department of Energy, presented a very interesting program on the radioactive materials in our environment. We were shown portable equipment that, through his laptop and digital projector, exactly which radioactive components they are. For those of you that missed this meeting, you missed a really good one.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Well, here it is time for the spring picnic, again. I just know all are chomping at the bit to get to come to this event. Looking forward to seeing many of you there. Actually, all of you there.
I know it is the picnic and no business, but PLEASE come one and all thinking about the health of YOUR club. We have several dire situations which NEED to be addressed ASAP. One, we desperately need a secretary, two, we desperately need a news letter editor. So, with these things on all our minds, and thinking how you can help YOUR club, come with thoughts that perhaps you can fill one of these positions. Think deeply and earnestly about giving a little to the benefit of YOUR club. The life or death of this club could depend on whether or not these vacancies are filled immediately.
Flora Lee Walker, President
MAY PICNIC
May is one of our picnic months. I look forward to the picnics, as I sure most all of you do. We will be doing a silent auction this time that will be conducted just like the others. Please dig through your stuff and bring something. Anything will be appreciated. A few examples might be: lapidary supplies, old & new tools, fossils, minerals, gems, displays, etc. Remember one man's trash is another man's treasure. I hope to see all of you there!
Danny Griffin, Vice President
