Before-Care & After-Care

Notification must be given in advance for both Before-Care and After-Care to assure that the programs are adequately staffed for the number of children present.

Before-Care

KMS provides before-school care starting at 7:45 a.m. each school day (unless otherwise noted), supervised by one of the Primary teachers.

After-Care

KMS provides after-school care until 6:00 p.m. each school day (unless otherwise noted), supervised by Carie Moellendick and one or more aides.

After-care is a time for children to learn and do many things:

• a time to learn how to communicate with their friends, to share with one or maybe many friends;
• a time to learn to take care of our playthings, putting them away when we have finished with them;
• a time to talk with care-givers and learn trust;
• a time to think about the day, the lesson, the story read a while ago;
• a time to make good choices and feel good about what we choose.

This all has to be taught to young children in a happy, nurturing, positive way.
