shame

A hate crime is defined as any criminal offense against a person or property that is motivated by the offender's bias against a race, religion, gender, disability, ethnic/national origin or sexual orientation.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center:
Somewhere in America ...
Every hour Someone commits a hate crime.
Every day Eight blacks, three whites, three gays, three Jews and one Latino become hate crime victims.
Every week A cross is burned.

“Haters are always cowards with poor self regard looking for an excuse to treat someone else as lesser persons than themselves.” - Bill Johnson, Facing History and Ourselves
