Tenth Annual Oak Ridge ASM Chapter Industry Night
Co-sponsored by the ORNL Partnerships Directorate
|
|
The ASM Oak Ridge Chapter is proud to organize the Tenth Annual
“Industry Night.” This year it is co-sponsored by ORNL's Partnership Directorate.
UT-Battelle, ORNL's operating contractor, has responsibility
for effectively managing the ORNL resources. UT-Battelle's Partnership Directorate
is responsible for interactions with commercial businesses, including:
(1) business utilization of ORNL's world-class researchers and facilities,
research collaborations, contracted research, user facilities, and other arrangements;
and (2) management of ORNL's vast portfolio of intellectual property, including
licensing and patenting.
The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for local
materials and manufacturing-related industry to: introduce their
company to the local chapter members; introduce their company to
other participating companies; familiarize themselves with other
companies in the area; learn about technical support that is
available from the
Department of
Energy facilities in Oak Ridge,
The
University of Tennessee, and
independent consultants; and learn about what
ASM International can
do for your company, including society and chapter services to
sustaining members, publicity, and education for employees through ASM
courses.
Industry’s participation in Industry Night will something colleagues from each
company to come prepared with information about their company. This
information can be in the form of posters, brochures, products, or
anything else that the colleague feels is appropriate. Each company
will be provided a four-by-eight-foot table for their display. In
addition, each company will have two minutes (maximum!) for an oral presentation.
The cost of setting up a table display is $150, which provides special
benefits of the company becoming a sustaining member of
ASM
International for one year, and a free
advertisement in the yearbook of Oak Ridge Chapter of ASM, which is
distributed to all chapter members (about 300 people). In addition, the cost of
dinner for each person attending the event is $25. Cash or check will
be accepted at the door. If paying by check, please make it out to Oak
Ridge Chapter of ASM International.
