Turtle Fact

Shell shock . . . How big can the world's biggest turtle get? Pretty big. The shell of a leatherback turtle can be as large as a king-size bed. Imagine that!

Chicken Chuckles

Are you ready for some chicken jokes?

What was the near-sighted chicken doing in the farmer's garden?

She was sitting on an eggplant.

Why did the hens go on strike?

They refused to work for chicken feed.

What would you get if you crossed a chicken and an old timepiece?

A grandfather cluck.

What do you call it when it rains chickens and ducks?

Fowl (foul) weather.

Have You Ever Wondered?

Why do turtles (like me) have shells? We have shells for protection. Most turtles can pull their heads, legs, and tails into their shells when they feel threatened. The shell is very hard, like a suit of armor. It has a pattern like a jigsaw puzzle. Most turtle shells are black, brown, or dark green, but some have brighter colors on them.  A turtle can't leave its shell because parts of its body are attached to it. I'll tell you how next time. Do you know what color my shell is? It's bright green!
