CONTACT Helpline offers a special course designed to improve communication through the development of empathetic, non-judgmental listening techniques.
This course is usually offered twice a year. The training is open to anyone in the community who wants to grow in self-awareness and in relationships with others. It is an intensive 50-hour program taught by specialized professionals and experienced CONTACT staff to help trainees improve communication and listening skills. It also prepares participants to become CONTACT crisis line volunteers.
CONTACT Volunteers make a difference in the lives of people who are in need of a friend, a voice of encouragement, a sympathetic and understanding ear, an anonymous and confidential listener.
