 East Tennessee Technology Access Center

The East Tennessee Technology Access Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities reach their potential for learning, working, speaking and living through the use of assistive technology. ETTAC works with people of all ages and with all disabilities, as well as with parents, children, adults, schools, businesses and health care providers. ETTAC provides information, performs individual evaluations, presents workshops and inservice trainings, and manages a loaner program of assistive devices and toys.ETTAC serves the East Tennessee Region which includes Cookville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, LaFollette, the Tri-Cities and their surrounding counties.

This site describes the Disability Resource Center. The organization is "run for and by people with disabilities. Alliance for Technology Access

This site describes ATA:  The Alliance for Technology Access. The mission of ATA is "to connect children and adults with disabilities to technology tools."

ATA is " a nationwide network with a head office based in San Rafael, California, that provides technical assistance, training and support to:
  • 40 independent, community-based, consumer-driven technology resource centers around the country that serve consumers and their families as well as schools, health professionals and community organizations

Closing The Gap
Closing The Gap, Inc. is an "organization that focuses on computer technology for people with special needs through its bi-monthly newspaper, annual international conference and extensive web site." 
  • Published six times a year, the Closing The Gap newspaper highlights hardware and software products appropriate for people with special needs, and explains how this technology is being implemented in education, rehabilitation, and vocational settings around the world.
  • The February/March issue of the newspaper, the annual Resource Directory, is a guide to the selection of the latest computer-related products available for people with special needs. (This acclaimed guide may also be purchased separately.)
