Behavioral Health Resource Center

The earliest years of a child's life set the stage for future learning and development. To make a real difference in the lives of children, United Way started Success By 6 to ensure that every child enters school ready to learn and succeed.

Success By 6 of Blount County developed the Behavioral Health Resource Center to address the social emotional needs of young children. Early intervention is important and could prevent more serious problems in the future. The center provides:

Assessment and Referral
Call the Behavioral Health Resource Center if you have concerns about your child's development, emotional health, or behavior. Staff at the center can answer your questions or do a behavioral assessment and link you to appropriate resources. Our staff can meet with you in your home and can observe your child at day care or school if needed.

Community Information & Resources
Information is available to families, teachers, child care providers, and community groups. Information is provided through booklets, speakers, trainings, and forums. Available information includes:

• Games, toys, and activities for children
• Positive discipline
• Getting ready for Kindergarten
• Healthy social-emotional development
• Developmental milestones
• Resources for children and families
• When to ask for help
