Spectrum Cafe is a social gathering place for Knoxville area high school youth who support the principles of diversity, tolerance, and the worth and dignity of every human being. Teens who come to Spectrum respect each others' ideas, religious views, race, sexual orientations, abilities, and ethnic backgrounds.

Spectrum Cafe especially welcomes teens who:
self-identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, or who are questioning their sexual or gender identity
are differently abled
feel "left out" because of who they are... or what they believe... or where they come from
wish to socialize in an atmosphere that reflects a full spectrum of people and ideas

      What:

Spectrum features a variety of fun stuff, including lively conversation, CDs and live music, open mike, poetry readings, games, and other social events planned by the teens themselves. Mostly it is a place where teens can be themselves, talk with other teens, and just hang out. A variety of snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are served.

      Where:

Spectrum is sponsored by and held at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931 Kingston Pike. Here is a map showing the church location.

      When:

Spectrum Cafe is open from 7-9 p.m. on the first and third Saturday evenings of each month.
