The University of Tennessee Arboretum Society (UTAS) is a non-profit organization of volunteers throughout Tennessee, dedicated to furthering the objectives and programs of the University of Tennessee’s Forest Resources Research and Education Center’s Arboretum Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Chartered in 1965, the UT Arboretum Society has assisted the 250-acre research and education facility by providing volunteer support and funding for such projects as expanding plant collections, constructing educational facilities, and informing the public of the unique value and importance of the Arboretum. Recently, the Society has accepted the challenge of providing a portion of the operating funds needed to assure continued public access to the Arboretum. |
The Endowment CampaignA $3 million endowment campaign has been initiated to secure future funding for the UT Arboretum. The UT Institute of Agriculture Development Office, Arboretum Director, Arboretum Society President, and several Arboretum Society members have been working in partnership for many months to lay a foundation for a successful campaign. In the fall of 2006 the Rogers Group, a long time corporate citizen of Oak Ridge and a neighbor of the Arboretum, became the Endowment Fund's first corporate donor with a pledge of $500,000 over the next five years. In addition to other contributions, as of November 2007 the UT Arboretum Society has contributed $15,000 to this fund. If you have questions, need more information, or wish to share your ideas for funding the Arboretum Endowment, please contact:
