John Brock, Professor of Music, has been a member of the faculty of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, since 1967. In the intervening years he has performed in the Knoxville area many times on both the organ and the harpsichord. He has also performed for conventions of the American Guild of Organists, the Southeastern Historical Keyboard Soceity, and the Organ Historical Society, and he has appeared in concert in several European countries. In addition, he has recorded two compact discs, A Tennessee Organ Tour (Raven) and Hugo Distler: Complete Organ Works (Calcante). His principal organ study was with Warren Hutton at the University of Alabama.
Catherine Leach is Associate Professor of Music and Associate Director of Graduate Studies. She received the B.M. degree from the University of Michigan and the M.M. from the University of New Mexico. She teaches trumpet, directs the UT trumpet ensemble, and coaches small ensembles. Ms. Leach is principal trumpet with the Knoxville Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and with the UT Brasswind Quintet. She is also a member of Monarch Brass, an all-star ensemble of outstanding female brass players from around the world. She is a clinician for the Bach/Selmer Corporation and is active in the International Trumpet Guild, on whose board she has served. Ms. Leach appears on recordings on the Musical Heritage and Opus One labels.
